Snow volleyball consists of 3 players per team on court at any one time with a 4th player on the bench who can be subbed in. You are only allowed 1 substitution per match so make sure you use it wisely. This action is referred to as blocking. The Libero is a defending specialist and cannot move the frontcourt or serve the ball, wear a different color jersey from the rest of the team players.
The team is organized with a setter, two receiver hitter, two center blockers, and a universal spiker. The first serve and the choosing the side of the court is determined by the winner of a coin toss. The play is started with service, the ball is hit by a server aver net to the opponents and the team has three hits in addition to the block contact for returning the ball.
The rally continues until the ball hits the ground, the opponent team gets a score point. The team which gains the score has the right to serve for the next play of the ball, and its players rotate one position clockwise. Only three players at the net positions in the rotation can jump and block or spike the ball. The backcourt players can hit the ball over the net from behind the three-meter line or attack line, which divides the front and back zone.
A player who starts rotation in the backcourt is not allowed to block the ball, or even not to touch the ball. If it happens so, it is considered a violation of the game rules. In world champions and Olympics games, players of both teams can participate in a six to ten minutes warm-up session, to be adopted in the playing environment.

If a team commits a fault, the opposite side gets a point and gets a chance to serve. If the serving team loses the ball on the ground, the opponent gets a point and a chance to serve after the clockwise rotation in the specified order.
